The Bachelor of Arts in Filipino program aims to enhance students’ proficiency in the Filipino language;
deepen their knowledge through an interdisciplinary perspective in the study of Filipino; foster creative
and critical thinking to produce scholarly research that advances the discipline of Filipino; and provide
opportunities for the practical application of acquired knowledge and skills
- Critically reflect and demonstrate the need for lifelong learning skill;
- Analyze different perspectives and interrelationship between text and context;
- Effectively communicate in Filipino in specific fields such as business, trade, product design, and
advertising;
- Evaluate and synthesize analytical and critical skills in studying texts;
- Develop strategic recommendations for agencies or institutions on the effective use of Filipino for
communications, campaigns, networking, and more;
- Write and edit clearly, carefully, and extensively in Filipino, besides being able to express thoughts
or feelings in a creative way;
- Demonstrate research skills focused on disciplines in humanities;
- Apply and integrate appropriate theories and methodologies critically and creatively; and
- Analyze the role/functions of humanistic education in shaping people and society.
