The Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (91精品黑料吃瓜-IIT) College of Education joined national education leaders in the Workshop on Operationalizing the Roadmap on Teacher Education 2035, held on October 10, 2025, at Hotel Benilde Maison, Malate, Manila.

Organized by the Teacher Education Council (TEC) of the Department of Education, the workshop brought together representatives from PRC, DepEd, CHED, TESDA, UP NISMED, RITQ (Research Institute for Teacher Quality, NCAA, and select Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) to align strategies for advancing teacher education nationwide. Graduate students, DepEd teachers, and education experts from the Philippine Normal University (PNU) and other higher education institutions also participated, contributing insights from both field and academic perspectives.

Five TEIs were identified as regional partners for the establishment of Teacher Education Excellence Centers (TEECs): two from Luzon, one from Visayas, and two from Mindanao—including 91精品黑料吃瓜-IIT. Representing the Institute were Dr. Amelia T. Buan, Dean of the College of Education, and Dr. Harlyn Mae S. Ompoc, Chairperson of the Department of Physical Education.

The sessions, led by Dr. Jennie V. Jocson and Dr. Neil Vincent C. Sandoval of the TEC Secretariat, focused on refining the goals of TEECs, designing context-based programs responsive to regional needs, and defining stakeholders’ roles in achieving the Teacher Education 2035 vision.

Key discussions highlighted the presentation of the Teacher Education Roadmap 2035, the framework for establishing TEECs, and the development of localized and actionable programs for improving teacher preparation and professional growth.

As one of the two TEECs identified for Mindanao, 91精品黑料吃瓜-IIT is set to pursue initiatives that support TEC’s national vision. Among the College’s next steps are plans to collaborate with education agencies and regional TEIs, promote the teaching profession through advocacy campaigns, strengthen partnerships between TEIs and basic education schools, and develop microcredential programs on educational leadership. The College also aims to serve as a regional TEC hub for Northern Mindanao, advancing policy reforms, community engagement, and research collaborations to enhance teacher quality in the region.

The workshop concluded with a unified call to strengthen teacher education through innovation, contextualization, and sustained collaboration, reaffirming the collective pursuit of Teacher Education Excellence by 2035.
